Hey So Cal!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm from Half Moon Bay which is about 30 minutes south of San Francisco. I am about 95% sure I'm going to be moving down to Orange County in December and attending a JC around there. I just figured I'd say hello and also wanted to get a feel for the popular meets, and what's up with you guys in general. How are the police down there? Hopefully not as strict as up here!

Anyways, time to finish watching the World Series.

Chris

Hey! i don't know about the cops in orange county, but it seems like the ones in santa barbara county have been calming down lately. if you ever want to drive to SB area we have meets/cruises atleast once a month, usually more. check out myimprezawrx.com and sbcars.net

Yup welcome to So Cal Orange county (not as good as Hawaii though) home of the fabulous life of fast cars, beautiful people, and insane WRX's. haha j/m. Yeah what Jr college you going to? I go to OCC there is quite a bit or Suby's there and girls that meet your basic human needs. There is also Aeroism right around the corner for your basic tuning accessories and more.
Cops aren't too bad (knock on wood). I notice a lot of people being pulled over on Fairview, and Baker for some reason even on early sunday mornings. Other than that not too bad.

I'm quite sure the drama is just as bad as it is in the Bay Area forum lol. What do you think of OCC? I'm trying to find info on all the JCs around Orange, why did you choose that one, etc?

Well I know that OCC has the most transfer agreements between UC and Cal state schools. Their programs are pretty good I must admit and the teachers are very helpful. It also has the highest transfer rate with regards to other jr colleges. Hope it answers your question. I know that the registration for next semster is comming up. The spring 2005 semester starts on Monday Jan 31.

Travis,

Thanks for the info, do you know when the deadline is to register for the spring semester? I haven't moved down yet, (won't be doing so until december) but want to make sure I actually get into a school lol.

look at their site http://www.occ.cccd.edu/ You should enroll ASAP so that you can get your placement testing out of the way and then you can register early. Otherwise if you wait you are going to get a crappy schedule and then petition for all your classes. I don't even know when I register honestly but I might be transfering to Azusa Pacific next semester. When you register for classes let me know I can kinda help you get good teachers. So yeah I'm confused about my own situtaion right now of when to do what.

Then you should just enroll for next semester. You shouldn't need to take any placement tests so you could just enroll and wait for them to tell you when to register I think.
