I saw on nasioc that you were looking for a mini cooper, which one current gen or old school? I picked up an old school mini last night in the used car section, planning seeing if I can use that on the mini cooper races

i did my license test with the wheel because its rewarding for me to know that I got passed with driving a wheel versus a controller.
The license test i feel are showing us how to interrupt the track and how to drive.
Even with the racing line up and it shows blue then you see red, you would think its the line meaning when to gas and when to brake. Personally I don't think it is, there have been many times where I lift off the gas and get back on and will turn a faster and cleaner lap. I don't think I would be able to do this with a controller.

Yeah I have noticed lifting or even lighter braking with a good line is all you need. Even then the line is wrong.
