Question '04 WRX offer: good deal or not?

My local dealership is offering me $22,222 + t&l for a base model WRX, $400 extra to include a spoiler, and I am also planning to take the $750 rebate offer. This is through Internet Sales. I plan to get no other options, and the spoiler is not a big priority for me. Do you guys think this is a good deal?

Well since you guys are from the bay, I'm dealing with Larry@Carlsen. From what I have read, his offers are the take-it or leave-it type, so I dunno if I can talk him down. It's worth a shot I guess.

r8c3w1tm3: heh....no problem. its equally my fault. Now who do I talk to about a username change?

well the 05's are already coming out, I got my 04 with turbo gauge, auto dimming mirror, and security system upgrade for around $22,000 on New Years Eve, so I think maybe you should be doing better than me.

update: Well I got some bad news that the car is actually their demo vehicle. Good thing I asked how many miles it had. Either way I would of noticed how many miles it had. The pricing they gave me was still for a new car and not a special demo price. Now they are offering me 22,563 for a silver model with spoiler, armrest, and security upgrade plus a 1000 cash back rebate. This is only 100 more than they quoted me for a base model with spoiler. I was really set on white but this silver car is tempting.

esracer: amazing deal. was this OTD and/or with any special rebate offer???

It was around 22,000 plus TT&L, it included my 750 subaru rebate at that time.

Before taking any "cash incentives" use an amortization table to figure out if the financing offer is the better deal. For instance in my case 1.9APR means that at the payoff of my loan I will have spent about 900 dollars to finance the car. With an APR of 3.9 it would have cost me about 1500-2000 dollars more to finance the car (subtract the 750 cash back and the car ends up costing you 1750 to finance over the term of the loan). Anyway I hope this makes sense. I used the loan calculator on Bankrate.com to figure out my information. Good luck.

PS: I got my '04 Sedan in January for 23,784 + TTL premium package (heated mirrors, heated seats, moon roof, heated windshield wiper rests, and rear spoiler). All said and done I paid 25,999 out the door.

if you're in california i'd suggest you go to irvine subaru (www.irvinesubaru.com). i'm getting my car very soon (just need to do the paperwork) and they are offering $4,000 below msrp and this comes out to be way below invoice price. if your price of $22,222 is before the rebate then it's a really good price, but if that's the price after the $1000 (rebate went up from $750 on 6/8) then you can do better.

Dude...u can get an 04 base at Carlsen Subaru for 21400 + t&l of course, that's what they offered me. I talked with Greg over there. I got the 04 with spoiler, upgraded alarm, and armrest extension for 21530 or 21550 + t&l over there, I forgot which #, but they are around there. BTW, i just got my 04 this summer too, like in the end of May. Good luck with your purchase.

after the rebate, i got mine for 21600 (spoiler, alarm, momo shift ****) which ends up about 23700 OTD (high california taxes). bare-bone with no options was 22037 (no rebate 21037 with it) but i wanted to add a few things. i tried to get the same deal at other dealerships but they wouldn't match the exact price so i think i got a pretty good deal.
