Exclamation California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

I just read this up on another forum I figured it would be of good use here.

The NEW California fines

These are all effective right now.
HUGE California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

Effective immediately, if you do not stop at the red light, be ready to pay
$436 in fines or if you pass a school bus with flashing red signals, you
will be charged $616. The state of California is going for blood, so be
extra careful in driving, you cannot afford messing with them. I have been
hearing that Highway Patrols are under pressure to issue a lot more tickets
than last year with at least 30% increase in fines over 2009, so beware of
radar guns, highway and traffic cameras installed everywhere and the tougher enforcement of parking rules.

Just for your info, the next time you park in the handicapped zone, even for a minute, you will be looking at almost $ 1000 in parking tickets , so it'd
better be worth it.

California needs money, so pay close attention to the rules of the road!

Is it bad that I am actually kinda happy because now they have "set" fines. It always seemed like they just made up a number. And it looks like the speeding fines have been reduced as well as the "unlawful material on windows" fine.

Looks like stickers need to come off the cars. My new car has no stickers except parking permits.

lol. This is so funny to me. California is already broke... Which in turn means the PEOPLE of California are broke... So instead of trying to help the people by giving them the opportunity to acquire more capital... The state uses its power to feed its greed with stricter traffic laws and heftier fines for the people who already couldn't afford the fines in the first place, just to pretend the little bit of extra revenue will take us anywhere NEAR being out of debt in this inflated state. Since they can't tax us... They raise fines and prices of everything they can in order to make up for what tax revenue they wish they could leech from the people.

California is going further down hill than I thought....

a majority of the handicap parking spots are not "legally" handicap parking spaces per the CVC.

If you receive a ticket, you can use this to fight the ticket and have it dismissed.

I had two old roommates that used to do this all the time. The requirements for a legal handicap space boggles the mind.

I have a fake German plate on the front of my car that has the same numbers as the CA plate on the rear. The city of San Rafael has a law on the books regarding front plates with relation to their parking tickets, so I received a parking ticket a while back for "no front plate". The ticket was $123, or $10 with proof of correction + LEO signoff. I got a CHP officer friend to sign it off - he didn't even go look, and even said the ticket was stupid. I believe his exact quote was "Don't they have anything better to do in San Rafael?!" Bear in mind, the time marked on the ticket was something like 7:45 PM! After all that I paid the $10 and still have the same plate on my car. The only difference is I put the correct plate in my front window when I am parking on the street at night.

It's illegal to park after the street cleaner passes by? Has anyone ever gotten a ticket from doing that? I see it all the time, and I used to do it as well when I went to school. Never once had a ticket from it.

I just paid $470 for a ticket I got on 680 last year. 79 in a 65 (in the company car no less) FTL.

Eff that. The real question should be "How do we get rid of all the dead weight union contracts, unneeded services, and pensions that NO ONE in the private sector receives?". We pay plenty in taxes, especially with the amount of worthless programs/employees the state is funding.
