Hey guys...for those that don't know me, I'm Jon Burke and I recently finished rally prepping my 04 WRX and entered Gorman Ridge Rally this year. I figure I'd get the most exposure over here instead of the 'Rally' forum which is a little slow these days.
I'll keep updating this thread after events. Next rally is Prescott, October 2-3rd in Prescott, AZ.
For reference...we got a 5:20 on this stage (not bad). We did it 2 more times. 2nd time we got a 5:00 and 3rd time a 4:44....best time on this stage for the day was a 4:32....so we improved quite a bit.
Nice work there Jon, I was particulalry impressed seeing you get quicker as the day went on, too bad about the driveshaft, but still a fantastic result for your debut event!

Especially on the roads at Gorman, seeing you pull that on your first stage, thoseof us paying attention knew you'd be moving up fast.
Pretty cool! Did your shoulder really pop-out and back in ?
yes.
when I went into that really sandy corner the car started to oversteer, I tried to countersteer back, and reached over with my right (to pull the steering wheel right), but I was pretty close to my steering wheel (I've since adjusted my seat back a bit) and the tight rotating of my shoulder, coupled with my HANS/harness holding my torso back, I rotated my shoulder out for a split second. That's why we just stopped there, because had I stayed on the gas, I would have gone over the burm, lol.

Very cool! Impressive driving, and that looks like SO MUCH FUN. I have only done a RallyX and some back-roads driving and doing a proper rally is a dream.
