Project 06 STI GT30 reborn

Fine Line Imports has been lucky in it's 7+ years of business to have some of the best customers anywhere. We are also lucky to be able to work on some of the most exciting Subarus on the streets. The following car is one of those cars and is owned by one of Fine Line Imports best and most liked customers. Over the years this car has transformed from a very sedate stage two to an APS- powered fast street car to yet another transformation as a GT30- powered monster. This next transformation the car undertook takes it to another level all together.

The owner of the car came to us and wanting to really push the limits of the GT30 that he had. With the stock motor in place adding too much power over what the car already made was not the best idea for longevity so a built motor was decided upon. Coupled with our reverse intake manifold and a few more modifications the car below is what we ended up with. We are very happy to have been able to see this car from stock all the way to where it is now and we thank our customer for his continued support throughout the years.

This is how the car looked when it drove in

This is the old GT30 set up on the stock motor as we started the project.

Engine out and the real work can start.

New 2.5l FLI closed deck block halves waiting for there internals.

FLI 2.5 closed deck block with its insides out.

FLI engine built to our own stringent specifications.

Complete long block with JDM version 8 heads and AVCS cams with the Morosso oilpan.

Getting close to a complete engine.

Almost ready to go back into the car.
