tirerack + Eagle F1 GS-D3= crazy delicious

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....Eagle+F1+GS-D3

I know some of you probably already know of this but this is a pretty sweet deal that is going on right now 215/45WR17 for $88 each at Tirerack and a $100 "cash card"-not too sure about that.

Reading some reviews they seem pretty legit, so I grabbed a set

the total came out to be: $389.24 shipped to 94087 and if that cash card really works then take another $100 off that so the total would be $289.24

Dang, that is a smoking deal! Bought new "street" tires for the WRX 2 months ago, and got a tire that isn't nearly that good (Kumho AST : bought it knowing it wouldn't handle all that great but would be cheap and ride nice) for MORE money than that!

Have the GS-D3s as street tires on my Impala SS. Bit soft on the sidewalls, but pretty good handling in the dry and dang near the BEST street tire out there right now in terms of wet handling (yes, on par or better than the S03).

seems like some good prices for you guys who can run those 225+ sizes, didn't do as much research on these so I am not sure how good they handle.

the RE050A's are only $79 in stock wrx size also. stock wrx 02-05 that is

luke tells me that the RE050A Pole Position is significantly better than the regular RE050A, but he might 'have to' say that otherwise no one would buy the more expensive tire. i might give the RE050A a gander and see how this particular Potenza handles (i've tried the RE040, RE070, which are both pretty good). it cant be worse than the Kumho MX or the RE040.

so, the question now is how do they compare to Hancook R-S2s? I am about to buy a used set of R-S2s in 215/45/17 that were used for 2 weeks.

I need a dedicated auto-x tire for cheap so it will be these or the used R-S2s.

Not sure how good the F1's do for auto-x, I would assume that the Hankooks would be better for what you are looking for. I was actually looking into the Hankooks as just regular street tires but they wear out a lot quicker due to the compound it is using. Anyone use the F1's in auto-x? Brand new kooks are running about $92 for the size you are looking for.
