^^^Agreed with that thread...I used 10w30 last time because the place I buy my Quaker State Q Advanced whatevers oil was out of 5w30 at the time.
In all practicality I'd stick with manufacturer specifications but 10w30 shouldn't hurt to be used.

10w30 actually protects better because it is thicker during start-up but actually afetr it warms up I believe the thickness(viscosity) is the same as 5w30; both 30 weight.
