I think I might frame this one...

I know that Wes and Jayson and Pat do it all the time - but it's not too often that I get to take down a big LS1 V8 bruiser...

Apparently that thing only has REALLY basic mods, but I'm sure he was still pretty surprised at the little 4-whacker holdin' him off...

That's EXACTLY my launch procedure. I think you're going get the hang of things real quick in that 2.5l monster of yours!

Will take a bit of time to work out the launch, thats what Im worried about. When I have tried it in some parking lots its been ugly. =)

An STi launch technique

From an STi review. (link attached)

"The grip is so good with the four-wheel drive that a drag-strip launch requires more brutalizing than you'd really want to use too often. Best to hold it at about 3600 rpm, get off the clutch quickly (but not side-step it) and bury the loud pedal."

Don't forget to hit the IC water sprayer once or twice before you stage.

Maybe I'm too cautious but these drag launches are gonna scare me. yeah its great that the mag does it but notice how no one knows what happens to the tranny over time. All that grip means the trans will get take all the stress......and we know this isnt a skyline (that is one crazy launch). Maybe I'll let you guys try it for a couple months as guinea pigs.....haha just kidding.....dont want any fellow STI owners to have problems

Damn we're lucky to live in Hawaii.....the mainland dealers don't even know how many they're getting till next week......and we've all got 300-500miles already!

It's actually one of the slowest Stage 4 VF30 cars I can think of, but at least I can blame Hawaii's performance sucking aura for some of that lack of performance.

It's a TXS Stage 4 (VF30) + TMIC (v1) car. My best is a 12.87 @ 104.14mph. The same combination has produced 12.70's in GPATMAC's wagon and 12.60's in Kawshon's WRB sedan. Rexstang has gone 12's also, but with the fastest trap speed (106.7mph) and he's using a VF23...

I think we'd all be a tick or two quicker on the stopwatch were we to be racing on a sea level track on the mainland, but apples and orange eh?

Thanks!
