STi - first impression. DAYM!!!

Well dammit. Just typed in a 50 line review of the STi and it ate it! Well crap heres the short version.

Suspension - tight and stiff
Steering - tight and quick
Shifting - smooth, smooth, smooth, tho the throw is more than the KB which I liked and the **** seems a bit high, but has to have room for the reverse lockout I guess.
Brakes - oh yeah, they work. had to "test" them when a Toyota pulled in front of me on H1. To him:

Seats - not quite as comfortable as I hoped, but oh well.
Gauges - awesome red and the power on rocks. Just like the Defi BF gauges, but the clock and climate control are still green?! WTF?
Color scheme is nice too, atleast on the WRB it is.
Floor mats - none?! wierd.
Stereo - um, very quiet.

The hood scoop and tail bounce around like crazy while driving sorta distracting if you ask me, but oh well. Also wish my Advans had fit, but no go. They dont clear the Brembos. Grr..

So got the Advans 18" and S03s 225/40/18s for sale. Also have 225/50-16 Kumho v700 race rubber for sale too, new.

Scott you better get the Silver/Silver.

Tim you suck, I like your wheels better. Im stuck with Silver for now.

The black STi was awesome. The paint has gold fleck in it, I took pics hopefully they turn out.

Ok posting this now, will try and get some pics up as well...

Alarm, Tint and Radio next week...

WOW!!!

That's alright about my question. Just called the dealership and found the answer. They're selling those puppies at msrp. All the STI's in the first batch are spoken for and rolled off the lot.

$31690 plus all the taxes, about $33,300 total.

Its so worth it! Damn. Of course takes some getting used to. The oversteer is nice but you gotta be careful even with subtle throttle changes while in a curve. If I got off the gas the oversteer went extreme, get on the gas and major understeer. Im no expert of course, but it was a bit unsettling to say the least...

Ah, wonder if that means Scott (Peanut) picked up the Silver/Silver that was on the showroom, it was still available when I left after giving him a ride in my STi. Hope he did. Of course I need someone to get gold wheels who wants silver.

Funny since they dont even have manuals for the STi yet, all the DCCD and other options you are on your own with. Im leaving the bastage alone til I have a clue.

Drove about 150 miles tonite, took Wailae down through Hawaii Kai, around island on Kam Hwy and then back home. About another week and this biotch ought to be broken in.

Nada, just covers. Havent actually pried them off, but nothing I can tell. The headlights rock, heighth adjustable. I mean in town I had em cranked down so they were only about 10-15 feet in front, then on the road crank em up and you could see for miles. HID rocks, cant even tell no fog lights they did such a good job. thought for sure I would put some in, but not now, no need...
