I know some of you have ebay TMIC's, and I've heard they can work quite well. This one looks like it comes pretty well equipped and it looks decently made. Has anyone ordered one like this or maybe this exact type and have any feedback for me? Its only 160 so its cheap...should that make me worry? Thanks.

guy under sn andrew had one for sale for 50 bux, said it didnt come with anyhitng but the blowback tube. decent construction, but u get what u pay for always.

Yea I remember seeing an ad for 50$ when I searched sti intercooler on craigs list - he showed the exact same kit I was looking at and he said it didn't come with everything. I guess I'm kinda up a creek if they don't send me everything but, I suppose I could always charge back with paypal.

That one actually looks better than the others on ebay. I wouldnt use those rubber hoses , they look rinky dink in the photos. Like they are going to pop, especialy the throtle body one. Maybe Ill pick one up too.

You don't have to pay $1200 for an intercooler but $160?? I wouldn't do it on such a crucial power component. Everyone is different. I haven't heard anything bad about them though, but I have also heard nothing about them so yeah, I will shut up now

Well figure I could always get the samco silicon hoses...I'm really considering it because it looks like its decently made. Would it be a good idea to get a different y pipe as well?

And I assume that I would be able to use my stock bov...or would I need to get an after market one? I would be running a vf-34 as well.

That unit you linked comes with a BOV, but I would suggest a BPV or Recirculatory or whatever the "official" term is.

Yea, thats what I would do. Doesn't the stock (insert proper name here) do that? I am just wondering if I could just take it off and put it on the new i/c.

I would use an STi BPV since the volume of that IC is more sized to the STi TMIC. I could be wrong here so wait until some with more experience on this subject chimes in.

i've been running that exact intercooler for a month now, works great. gave a little more boost and a lot less heat soak

I have the same exact intercooler too. Took some adjusments to get it to fit right but it works great. I had to get a different throttle body hose for it though. I used everything else it comes with except I'm using the stock bov.

if you go ebay might as well go the fmic.... I did a writeup on i-club if you search under my name and "ebay fmic"

for tmic, I think more important than what you buy is SETUP. Lots of people (including me) forget this - get a new splitter and modify it to adequately flow air to the IC.

Otherwise with a bigger tmic and removing the splitter (cause hood will not fit w/ big tmic and stock splitter) is probably WORSE THAN STOCK

Thats kind of like saying oh well if you are going to go with the vf-34, might as well go for the 20g. FMIC is no where near as responsive as top mount, and I have to do more work to get it to mount and fit properly. And yea I would get a new splitter and modify it - running with no splitter probably isn't a good idea. Where about would one find an aftermarket splitter?
