APS SR55 (new version) with 70MM CAI and hard intake tube w/ DR525 FMIC or Perrin rotated kit GT30R .63 A/R and APS DR525 FMIC?
SR55 Pros:
stock turbo replacement
Less obvious to Charlie CHP
Works with APS FMIC
SR55 Cons:
big turbo (more like a GT30R .82)
expensive
not many seem to have this
GT30R Pros:
very inexpensive for what you get (turbo, UP, DP, EWG, 3" Intake)
.63 housing is more my style (daily driver)
can be switched out to one of the three other turbo options (that would be cool to have a track day turbo and a street turbo)
3 inch inlet
GT30R Cons:
BLING! much more obvious during hood pop (EWG doesn't help here)
I don't like the under hood air filter aka hot air intake
Not sure if APS FMIC will bolt on without fab.
I want the DR525 FMIC because:
1. it will clear the fog lights
2. comes with templates for trimming your bumper perfectly
3. comes in black
4. see 1 and 3 above
I'll probably have the piping coated with black too.
Thoughts? Opinions? Warnings? (I know. What was I thinking posting a semi technical post in a daily thread of a regonal forum on i-club. )
