I think it's absolutely gorgeous and the top mechanism looks really cool. However I can't seem to figure out what Miata problems it solves. It's not a real convertible hard top, and the rear 'Targa' hoop moves as part of the top open/close making it not structural. With it not being structural it still would require a roll hoop for track days. Rumors also say it's up to 150lbs more than the standard soft top that's a lot of weight on a 2350lbs car, nearly 6.5% more weight. For my money it's still a Club without the BBS/Brembo option.

It kinda looked like it had hoops behind the seats already. Unless those were just the backs of the seats.

Saw pics of this yesterday and agree with what Chris said. From a still side shot I saw with the targa off it kind of looked like a smaller updated MKIV Supra. Now to shoe horn an LSxx or 2J into it

They look like the ones on the regular ND Miata, which aren't tall enough to meet safety requirements. The ones on the S 2000 and Boxster are significantly taller and beefier making them allows for track days.

Nah that's still your fetish. I just really dig this look, however as you pointed out the added weight and uncertainty of increased power means all show and no go.
