May the Gods have pity on the poor soul that thought that was a good idea.
I hope your IT staff or whoever the **** you get to do your roll out is more competent than ours ever was.

What I do know is sire never was the correct solution for us as a human services agency, but the county as a whole was on it so that's what we got. Now we are in the driver's seat and get to dictate what the rest of the county gets....

Who do you have? Main reason we are looking at OnBase is because they own sire and the conversion in nearly free. They also handle the conversion and maintenance.

The issue that we have is that the campus has multiple EDMS solutions and ours is just one of several. Also, I don't think OnBase really does what we need it to do and there could be better solutions out there however I am not in the position to push that change.
My supervisor is the person who lead the charge on OnBase and it's implementation and was huge on the fact of having it go through terminal servers instead of doing fat-client installs. As a result we have a bunch of slow *** servers and people constantly complaining about the performance.
Nobody is happy and everybody thinks it's ****. So business per usual.

We are also using OnBase in our division by several departments that handle student records or student standing. Our system is meant to tie into the larger campus Banner system that is the record holder for all student records.
