Called in to work six hours overtime on your day off, for the night shift, when you work days. Discuss.

Do you get night shift pay in addition to the overtime?

Nope. Night shift never gets extra pay. Just hours. But with local market of 9% unemployment. no one here tries to be too picky.

Read that when you posted it on Facebook and if it's remotely true it is quite disturbing.

Point of interest: the first two times I had been to a ski resort ever, and the subsequent third visit to a resort and first as a "rider" were to to Northstar. I remember thinking to myself, "Wow. The stereotypes of skiers and snowboarders being snobbish, self-absorbed elitist *******s are .. well.. true." The other visitors and staff, as soon as they can tell that you are a novice rider/skier, instantly treat you as though you have leprosy and are wasting THEIR oxygen by being there. Even on the first two trips where I was just hanging out in the lodge, I definitely got the feeling of not just being not welcome, but even not wanted.

So I was shocked when I started going to other resorts (Homewood, Sierra, Boreal, etc.) and discovering that not all resorts are like that. In fact, none of the other resorts are like Northstar.

Going on almost 10 years and haven't been back to Northstar. **** that place.
