I Have a Leak (VIDEO)

04' WRB WRX Wagon

Before the long dick of the law caught up with me I was happily Stage 2

Cross Pipe

Up Pipe

Down Pipe

Catback

Silicon Intercooler Hoses

& a few other little tidbits.

Finally was cleared by the Referee and now I'm ready to start putting it all back on.

While I was stock I had/have what I thought was a boost leak.

I put the stock IC hoses back on so I assumed it was a leak from there.

I've gotten around to putting back on my silicon hoses and that didn't fix it.

I thought maybe it was the down pipe so I unbolted it and re-bolted it back up.

Still got the leak somewhere.

It's worse in the cold mornings before she's warmed up. The turbo starts to spool as normal and then I get a loud squeal.

The more gas I give it, the louder it is.

Does anyone have an idea of what else I can check?

Or if you wanna drop by I'm not opposed to that either.

Thanks!

Take some close up pictures in the engine bay. Does the noise occur at higher engine speed under load or just revving the car? Check vacuum lines between the inlet and the power steering pump as well as around the bpv and bcs. Loud squeal doesn't sound good though. If it's a vacuum/boost leak if you can't smoke test it bring it to FW and have them smoke the intake. You probably have more leaks than you think, the vacuum lines gets hard and then when moved about crack in the bends where you will never notice by normal means

Most common vacuum/boost leaks are from y-pipe and the BPV/BOV. Are you sure that's what it is though? Do you know anyone with a leak tester?

Thanks for the tips!

It happens only when I'm on boost, if I climb in RPM slowly I can avoid it, but as soon as I get on boost then that's when I hear it. I was able to test it when I had my AP connected and as soon as I hear the leak my boost pressure just drops.

Here's a link to the video.

Have you checked your turbo inlet?

I know when I had a tear in the inlet, it sounded like a supercharger
