I technically don't have a dress code at work, so I could wear shorts to work but it isn't really looked good upon doing so to the higher ups.

My boss has never said anything about it. Ive had ONE person somewhat half joking half serious say something about it a couple weeks ago (been wearing them for over a year when its hot).
And its not any type of shorts. Typically solid color (black, grey, tan) without any patterns or logos. With a short sleeve button up on top.
