Its doable.

Yesterday, I drove from Citrus Heights to Pleasanton (via I5/580) then to Sunnyvale and return to Pleasanton (return trip was 2 hours with hour & half of that stuck in traffic)
Then a speedy trip back to Sac via 680/80.

Trip total 277 miles and I had just under a 1/8 tank left and avg about 21.6 MPG
