The letters are given out based on what service you are wanting to get. And the person calling each letter is working at a different pace than the other peiople doing different things of course.

at the roseville DMV, the people behind the counter just press a button and it picks what number to pick, it's not like desk 1-8 do G/H's and 9-13 to B's.. it's like random, they just press the next button and whatever the number is that is what they do. They are all trained in everything, it's weird. The best DMV(called MVD) is in Arizona. No matter what time of day I went and how packed it was, i was in and out in 30 minutes! I made it in and out of there once in 5 minutes

You're sure there's only one button, and she didn't ask what you wanted before she pressed it? It's been a long time since I used CA's DMV, but that's how I remember it.

They semi randomly generate the letter/number combos so that they can slip the appointments in without causing the lowlife of america that were not aware they could call ahead from starting a revolt...

Yes, but when you order the plate you tell them which DMV you want to pick them up at.

ya, but I live like 5 minutes from the roseville dmv, I live right next to the galleria mall, so I just picked the closet one
