Have a dilemma:
LGT member wants my blouch in trade for a turbo he's selling. I'm ok trading cause his turbo would work on a Miata. He's in VT. I'm in CA. wants to just ship each other our turbo's since he's a known member and I'm a known member.

I've sold and bought more car parts and turbo's than most people ever owned, but never traded long distance like this before. Kinda scurrd

thoughts?

PayPal money as collateral?

I've ship traded paintball parts. It was pretty smooth. But it was less than $100 worth of parts so I wasn't super nervous about losing it.

Get it all ready to ship with tracking to show him but don't actually send it out until you have all the info from him?

Yeah, we're talking about two $1500 turbo's.

So basically both of us paypal each other and then both refund when they come?

Yep, or keep it, whatever. You both will have the power to dispute with PayPal and keep your money. Buy a turbo while simultaneously selling one.

I'm going to talk to him about that. I dunno, he seems legit or I wouldn't even consider it, but I still don't like taking risks.

If you send the money as a 'gift' then PayPal couldn't do anything about getting the money back to you if there was an issue. If you send the money as a sale/purchase then they are gonna eat 3% of what you send to the guy.

Or keep it, whatever. You would both have the power to open a dispute with PayPal.

Kinda like buying a turbo while selling one at the exact same time.

3% for the insurance. Sending it as gifts defeats the purpose.

Posting was weird for me. Was it weird for anyone else? Like the page kept getting hung up. And now I have a double post...

If you refund the money then you'd get everything back.
