To first approximations, the average human body, falling in a prone position, will reach terminal velocity (about 130 mph) in about 600 feet after 6 seconds of travel. Taking the constant velocity of about 130 mph to cover the remaining 400 feet, the whole trip will take about 8.5 seconds.

In other news: In 5 years with the State, just through casual conversation, I've been asked to quickly calculate how long it would take an object, typically a person, to fall a given distance, at least, 3 times.
Should you ever find yourself in a similar situation, a quick and dirty calculation of that time, in seconds, can be done by finding the square root of the distance, in feet, and dividing by 4. This, obviously, disregards air resistance which, for all practical purposes being a second order perturbation, would only had a small percentage to the overall time for relatively short distances (~1000 feet).
Ex. A person jumping off a 10-story building will have approximately 2.5 seconds to **** their pants and, mercifully, die of a heart attack before impacting the ground below at approximately 55 mph.
