That's good to know. Alien Bees are on my list of things to eventually get. Along with a macro and a wide angle lens.

Well, I was never going to make an educated decision on softbox size, so I grabbed the large (instead of giant) and figured I'd teach myself how to properly use it before jumping up to a larger one. Also threw in the B1600 on the order too

Now off to buy CS5 design suite!

Love it
But it makes me sounds legit.

Content aware is pretty darn good most of the time.

The HDR in CS5 still sucks.

Yeah definitely. I'm trying to save up for the Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro. I can use it as a macro and a fairly decent portrait lens.

Stunning!

I just got a D5100! I may have some things to contribute once I learn a little more on how to use it.

Have fun with it! I recommend going through some online sites to learn a bit more about your camera.

Nikon D5100 User's Guide

I know it's Ken Rockwell but he does have some pretty good information.

Practice practice practice! I think growing up in Monterey is what spurred my love for landscapes, and you have a much better playground in Tahoe! Are you by Tahoe City or Kings Beach?
