slate grey would be very passive and no one would give it a second glance.

as per engines... 2nd or 3nd gen 3sge would be insane (everyone poops on the 1st gen 3sge - except me). the BEAMS would not be a good setup IMO (for various reasons). if you want to stay small displacement, the 4age is still damned impressive. or even the 18r-g...

personally, i'd lean towards a frankenstein 3sge (1st gen 3sge head [dirt cheap and easy to get] & 2nd gen 3sgte bottom end with NA pistons from toyota japan [again, super easy to get]). it'd be a very balanced setup thats a good level of power for the weight of the car, it'd be easily controllable and reasonable for a daily driver.

and on top of all that, 87 octane gas, and lots of MPG.

yup. found that out AFTER i had posted my comments...

i'm terrible at looking thru the post prior to replying.

3sgte - you can easily squeeze 500hp from them. it just takes $$$. some crazy toyota engineers made an engine called the '503e' which was purely for racing (rally specifically)... 1200hp was the most they got from the meager 2.0L single turbo engine.

yeah............. ONLY 1200hp.

3sgte was the original swap I was planning on doing, but it was more cost effective to go with the 3tc. now I just gotta get the motor done and drop it in.

Nice project man. I was thinking of pickiing up one a while back . they don't come up for sale too often.
Nice work there and that manifold looks pretty nice. Locally done?
You from the islands?
