Seems a bit extreme to replace a motor because it failed a compression test.

Compression test aftermath. All cylinders were 160 - 165. How the hell did it need a new long block?

Not after the metal on metal contact. It's a bent valve. With contact and unknown damage to the short block or head its a cheaper option and faster to throw in an assembled shortblock.

Now given that the valves are bad yeah a head job would've been tha cheapest but would've been unknown till everything was pulled. Not ideal when you do not have a second car.

Attachment 91845 Attachment 91846 Attachment 91847 Attachment 91848 Attachment 91849 As you can see in the pictures. That's what happens when e85 gunks up and why you're suggested to drive the car or not let it sit. In this case the filter was put in 4 years ago never touched . Works just fine though.

Raybestos ST43 pads for the front.
