My STi only has 52k on it
What's up is I drive a ****load of miles, or did (now it's down to about 20k/year). I used to do 35-45k consistently. The wagon had 60k when I got it on '01. It's got 260k now. The SS was high miles becuase it was a worn shell when it was torn down, resprayed, and rebuilt. Nothing wrong with a high mileage car if you maintain it. The wagon has a new motor, transmission, axles, pretty much all ancillaries and I drive it daily with no issues......

Took some better pics to show off the new wheels since they'll be coming off shortly for, errrrr, the new winter wheels (stay tuned for those). Chargespeed grill is off until I do some more work on it.
This gives you an idea of the fender work - the fronts and rears are now rolled and pulled to clear this setup.

so pretty much everything that you did you either had to pay a fair amount, or figure a way to get other parts to fit huh? I have looked around for stuff that is made for this car and i found (as im sure you did) they just dont make anything, not high enough demand i guess. Which im alright with im always lling for a challenge, i cant wait to start making money so i can start customizing mine. Are there any websites that really helped you out as far as getting parts goes or any tips you have?
Thanks a bunch,
Mike

I'll be perfectly honest and say that in a lot of cases I was a guinea pig. I had the good fortune to work at a shop where I could test fit stuff, which helped, and I just took the plunge on a bunch of stuff, worked it out or sold what didn't work. For example, the first set of rims I put on this were RS wheels (16x7) with 205/55/16's. Pretty much every set with the exception of winter wheels after that got bigger, wider, and ran wider tires, and I modified everyting else as I went along. I didn't go from bone stock to fully done as the car sits. 25 sets of wheels. 5 different suspension setups. 4 sets of brakes. Multiple sets of foglights. Multiple sets of seats. Multiple steering wheels and hubs, modded to work with other stuff. Multiple stereos. You get the picture. If you want to build something unique, sometimes you have to break the mold, and that requires a time, engineering, and definitely a fiscal commitment. I certainly could have built a WRX using th epopular forum parts choices for cheaper than all of the stuff I put into this car over the years, but then it'd be another cookie-cutter car. I've dealt with a lot of "why would you lower an OB".......but it's worth it to have something I can call my own.

At least, yeah. I've got another set of Rotas NIB that are pending sale, there's an Acura TL wheel (don't ask) that I use as a jackstand, and usually at least one extra set of tires beyond whatever's wrapped around the rims...........to say I like being prepared is something of an understatement. The back corner of my garage is two stacks of rims and tires up to the ceiling.
