2006 CGM vs 2007 UGM TR

Hey Guys!

I'm pretty new to the site. Been looking over the past few months for a hawkeye and I'm down to two choices. I was hoping for advice.

Choice number one is a 2007 TR in UGM (my favorite color) which already has an SPT intake, SPT exhaust, Invidia Bellmouth DP (catless), Cobb AP, Ebeich springs, new brakes, new battery, and new Excedy clutch priced at 14,800. Problem is, has a faded hood scoop and a damaged rear bumper cover. It has 93k miles, 2nd owner and hasn't changed timing belt/water pump.

Option 2 is a 2006 CGM base model with Tein springs, and an STI spoiler, rest is stock. 81k miles, 3rd owner, new brakes, clutch, timing belt, water pump. Priced at 14,000.

Trying to figure which will be the best bang for my buck. Any questions are welcome, as well as all opinions and experience! Thanks in advance -- can't wait to join the club!

I'd offer 13k for the first one, and do the service required with OEM parts. Yes the other is up to date in servicing but, the timing components are very crucial to our motors. You don't know what parts were used on the service. Also before anything do a compression test and have it looked over by a suby tech. Good luck.

I talked to a suby tech that said used car check ups are about $100 and compressions are about $300. Is this accurate, and if so should I only do it on the car I feel absolutely sure about (just before pulling the trigger)?

Also, the first one started at 16 and I worked him down. The prices in CA are ridiculously high right now. These are more than fair compared to the rest of the local market.

I'd go for the first one for the mods, but mostly for your preferred color choice. I bought a car that was mechanically excellent but ended up selling it because it wasn't the right color lol.

Any interest in a SGM wagon with 57k miles? I might be selling mine soon.

I go back and forth on whether or not I would want a wagon. It would be super handy, but I just love the sedans!
