I paid $200 to charity and all I got was this stupid title... oh, and I'm probably out to sea right now too.

Anyone know if there is HARD proof with testing done determining how bad (if its bad at all) turbo compressor surge is?

I know there are people who swear its worse than the cardinal sins, and others say its not that bad.

I know the ideas behind the opinions, so what Im looking for is facts. Testing done on turbos, Subaru preferably, but any will do.

Reason I ask is... I recently got the GFB FX BOV and I had it adjusted for sea level. When I got to Tahoe I started getting that wonderful flutter sound. I love that sound, but until I know for certain its not going to blow my turbo apart, I dialed it back a bit.

No, but if there are chain restrictions you will need to put on chain or have 4x4 with mud and snow tires.
