anyone in the east bay?

Yes, we just had a small get-together last month in Alameda. There was a nice little turn out. I'm gonna try and organize another meet up this month, maybe in Oakland this time. I'll PM you when I pick date.

Still...?
Greetings! Are we still looking to put together a meet at some point? I know BAM is around the corner, but I don't think I'll be able to meet. I looking to still connect with other Subaru owners and fellow car guys, so, if anyone is around the p.hill areas, let me know!

Hmmm... maybe it's cuz I'm older than most or maybe it's cuz I've recently come out of an extended hibernation so I have no idea what meets are still somewhat active, but doesn't it make sense to bump one of the threads for established "East Bay" meets? Or how about simply scanning the list of threads in this meets sub-forum and bumping a thread from the last 6 months or so in which people actually had a weekly or monthly meet or even a special one-off meet in the area you're interested in? Makes too much sense, eh?
And it's my educated guess that Zach recently replied to Hide's post from a few months back is cuz this is whole drumming up interest dealio is deja vu all over again.
Anyway, if anyone in the East Bay (which, btw, is a HUGE region) wants to get something going, I'll offer what I and a few other folks advised a few years ago.
Post in one of the threads for an established meet, such as https://www.i-club.com/forums/meetin...s-meet-202599/ or https://www.i-club.com/forums/meetin...208851/page21/. Whichever is convenient to your location & social calendar.
Say something like, "Hi, I'm planning to go to the next meet. I'm from Danville, so I'd like to see if anyone else wants to revive this meet or we can come up with a place, day & time that's more to the liking of those interested."
Then go to the meet. Connect with people in person and online. Get a feel for the interest level of the weekly meet. Don't be discouraged that it may take 3 or 4 consecutive times or more out there.
Keep connecting with people online and at the meet, so you can eventually figure out if you need to change locations, days, and times. If so, try to get consensus on these possible changes.
Note: Now this should be a no brainer, but it's vital that you scout out possible locations. Do other clubs already meet at the proposed site on that day and time? Is there plenty of parking should the numbers increase greatly? Are the businesses and/or security at the location car-club-friendly?
Then post your proposed new meet. It'll help to actually start a new thread. The title should include the DAY, TIME and LOCATION. Why? Cuz common sense ain't so common.
Finally, have fun. Be safe and respectful. And stoke the Subie Love.
