Unhappy Tailight installation?

Ok, tried a search already so Im just gonna ask. I just bought a pair of V5 tailights for my 2001 RS. This installtion isnt going to be as easy as I thought huh? I removed about 5 nuts behind the lining of my trunk on one taillight and it isnt coming off. Is the taillight sealed on the body of my car or what.

If someone could let me know of a website with instructions, or type me some I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks

sealant

there is a black sealant holding the taillight in place. You just gotta pull hard. Don't worry, you wont break anything. A hair dryer or heat gun might help. It's messy after the taillights off. Make sure you try to recycle some of it to seal your new lights. If you dont, water will leak into the trunk when it rains.

I did the same, I just wiggled my taillights a bit and popped them out that way, it takes patience...try wiggling it enough to get it to come apart from the car and then pull it off. I bought sealant from an autoparts store, I used about 1 tube per light...I had to learn the hard way-I originally used 1 tube for both and got water leakage-it can be messy but well worth it-as I found out after redoing it.

dude trust me when I say this...use a heat gun or at least a hairdryer. go to nappa and pick up 3m cauk strips you get like 50 yards but it's only $11. it's the same stuff that is on there now. I reused the stock stuff and I got condensation in my light so I took it off and used this stuff and have had no problem since.
