Rear View Mirror Fell Off
Noticed my mirror seemed loose, and soon a few days later I hit a bump and it falls from the windshield, hanging from the cord (mine has the OEM homelink system). Shocked me at first and luckily I was less than 1 mile from reaching home.
Long story short, the OEM bolts on the base of the mirror suck, and even after trying to rescrew them, they just don't reach deep enough to lock in and tighten. Went to Lowe's and picked up some with different head than stock, but can reach a little further and tighten. Problem solved. Size 8-32 x 1/2 for reference. New bolts shown in pic (middle & bottom).

Since this thread resurfaced, I figured I'd post something that will potentially help someone else out. My 09 fxt had a similar issue.

Not sure if it's even the same setup. It appears to be.

Car Info: 2011 Subaru WRX STI Sedan
I just had mine fall off for the 5th time. I took my 11' STI sedan in for a 2nd go around and Subaru just came out with yet another version of their homelink mount system. So far so good.
