Help, car cranks no start

Having some problems with my 05 wrx. The car will crank strong but doesn't start. I was trying to look for a fuel pump relay, but I haven't seen anything. Any advice on what to check. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks 02rs25, I have tried the code reader. I will take a look at those sensors, how does the sensors come off?

crank is between alt and crank. cam is on driver side intake side. both removed via 10mm bolt

check all the easy things first like battery age and any corrosion on terminals, starter. make sure its kicking AND spinning.

pull top fuel line (top drivers side of intake manifold), see if getting fuel.

I put a multimeter to the pump connecter, key is at on position. I am getting 6 volts, is that the correct voltage?

You put a multimeter on what connector? between what pin numbers? Connector R56 (at fuel pump/sensor assembly) pin 1 black yellow and 4 black (motor circuit from fuel pump controller) should see 12v when you first turn on IG

^ ignore that for now...
step one: pull the fuel line off the manifold and see if it squirts. takes literally 9 seconds

If no fuel when you try to crank...dig deeper into fuel problem. It it does squirt fuel, check spark and compression to determine where to look next.

You need compression, fuel, and spark for combustion. Which do you not have? 10 minutes or less should tell you that much.

no fuel pressure. i tested the blue wires that is where i got 6 volts. I removed the pump and hooked it up directly to the battery and it spins.

I found the problem. I had 10.5 volts on the black and black/yellow. I ran a ground to the pump then jumped it to the harness and pump worked. Anyone know where the fuel pump grounds to?

Fuel pump power and ground both come from fuel pump control unit.

Check continuity between pin 4 Black on fuel pump connector R58 and pin 6 black/white wire on fuel pump control unit connector R122

If you have power, and the ground signal goes back to the control unit you will have to dig deeper.

From want I'm finding...Drain valve and pedal position sensor both send signal to fuel pump control unit. Maybe some other things to look at.

You could just bypass the control unit and run straight from relay to pump if you just need it running.

Fuel pump control unit connector R122:
cut the following wires (leave enough to splice back)
Black/orange
Black/white
Black/yellow
Black

Splice black/orange to black/yellow and black/white to black.
This will run you straight off fuel pump relay.
