Wrx wing to sti
Aloha, I have a stock wrx wing installed and I bought an original OEM sti wing. I've been told only 4 bolts on the wrx wing line up with the sti and it need to drill 6 more holes for the sti wing. Is this true? If so can I get away with the 4 bolts or is it recommended to drill the holes? Not trying to jury rig anything and have the sti wing fly off on the freeway.

Haven't found a serious offer for a swap. The trunk is usually ridiculously damaged or scratched to an extreme extent that it makes me not want to trade. I guess I'll have a friend help me drill the holes and put clear silicone on the new holes so I don't get any leaks.

Don't forget that your original torsion springs will not help much when opening your trunk with the heavier STi spoiler installed.
Ideally, when you do the a trunk swap for the STi wing, you also exchange the springs.

I was going to change the springs but I don't really mind lifting up the trunk for now, I'm not lazy lol. In the future I'll change the springs but as of right now my main concern is drilling the proper holes and getting it color blended and painted.

As someone who has changed trunks back and forth between STI wing and wingless many times, I suggest that you make a serious effort to get the proper torsion bars. With the STI wing, the trunk is coming down hard, maybe on your head or fingers if you're not careful. In any case, it's a pain to have to hold the trunk lid open with one hand while trying to fish something out of the trunk with the other hand.
