VF30 on my WRX
Hey guys so I'm still learning the ins and outs of subby specific parts so bear with me. I have a 14 WRX with stage 3 TP tune with FMIC and cobb TBE. I got an offer for a cheap VF30 but don't know anything about them. Eventually I want a 20G or slightly bigger but would I see any gains with the VF30 or is it actually smaller? I know on a 2.0 it will make ~300-320 but don't know what I'd get on my 2.5. What you guys think?

There are really good threads about this on NASIOC.

From what I understand, the only thing that's different is the bearing from turbo to turbo. Numbers will be very very similar for any oem vf

Here's a few links that will help with choosing a turbo and explain the difference between the IHI turbo's. The second one will contain a wide variety of turbo's other than IHI.

It will make no difference. You have a VF52 which is basically the same turbo (P18 turbine) with a rotated (RHF55) compressor housing to fit the smaller intercooler. Its CHRA most likely has the same journal bearing.
