In the article I read about it in Grassroots Motorsports, they accentuated how you would need to drain ALL of the water in your cooling system. It said that when you drain your radiator normally, it can leave up to 2 quarts of water in the block. They used a long hose and a vacuum. Else, isn't there normally a couple of drainage bolts on the neath of the block?
There's some temp data (EGTs on each cylinder) and info on how to flush the system to get all the water out. BTW, what's the coolant capacity of the EJ20. I have some NPG+ lying around somewhere.
He's not sure exactly what the cause is, but he's sure that it only happened AFTER the switch to Ethan's. I think he's since switched back to standard coolant and hasn't seen any ill effects since (he goes through a lot of motors).
