HIIC: "Got This In The Mail Today" Thread
#302
these are the threads I referenced when doing my install.
for this thread, the guy tapped flange where bpv was installed, I bought the m5 screws and m5 nuts from oriellys and used 2 m5 nuts and 2 washers to take away extra length of screw. one thing you can do if you got time and want a clean look is cut about a half inch off the screw. for the o ring, all I did was flip the oem one around when I took it off. I went to servco and bought a new one this past week just incase. some people have issues with sealing/leaks that show up when mounting oem bpv to fms, so I bought one to minus the whole "ah crap, need to go to the store" during install.

on this thread, I used it mainly for photos and more detailed step by step on what he did. The only thing I would disagree on is doing the hood scoop vent first vs intercooler. vent comes with a lot of screws n layers. I don't feel comfortable with dropping any of it on my newly installed tmic. Hood scoop first and damage oem fins if anything. I took off my oem tmic, put on that flange that adapts the turbo to hose, then put the hose on (did not tighten) to prevent stuff falling into turbo.

this last thread was also used for pics and info on what to expect. this guy took his time and did things on two separate days. I didn't have to cut anything to get duct and firewall to fit back into place. based upon the pictures he has of working on his duct, it doesn't look like he removed the metal piece under the first two layers. removing that metal piece which is held on by (6) 8mm screws (3 on each side l/r) and some gromitts made the whole thing go together. if you don't remove that piece, it wont go together correctly.... I know cause I tried it that way first.

If I ever do one of these installs again, I will sure do pics/and step by step post so that way people don't have to jump around from site to site. Hope this helps, gl.
