Hawaii i-club Cruise. Sunday, April 28th, 9am. CORP
Aloha HIIC! It's time to announce the next cruise!
Date is scheduled for the end of this month on April 27th.
- Meeting time: 9:00am-10:00am at CORP (Central Oahu Regional Park) in Waipio along Kamehameha Hwy. We usually meet and park on the side by the tennis courts. Whoever gets there earliest, just find the area that has the most open parking and park there. The rest will join.
- Meeting: 10:00am. Before we roll out, I will gather you all for a meeting to discuss how we're gonna do this. I'll ask if anyone has questions about the locations of the different spots we will be going to and the routes to get there.
- Rollout 10:15am. We will be exiting right onto Kamehameha Highway. Either I or any other volunteer can try to hold traffic in one lane to allow the rest of the cruise to exit single-file. If the rest of the public traffic is heavy, this will not be necessary. We don't need to obstruct the public.
- Stay in the right lane and enter H-1 East. Continue onto Moanalua Freeway by exiting 13A (Aiea/Kaneohe/Moanalua Freeway) and do NOT exit to Kaneohe. Continue on Moanalua Freeway and follow all the way until the Hawaii Kai boat harbor.
- Here, we can do whatever kinds of photo shoot action you want to do. There should be a lot of open space and decent backdrops. In the past, we've even separated ourselves by colors if you want to do that.
- 11:30 (or whatever time we're done at Hawaii Kai) rollout and head towards Sandy Beach. We can enter from the far entrance and park along the far side parking stalls by the bathrooms. More photoshoot action.
- Rollout. From here, we continue East and head through Waimanalo and towards ********'s Hat. We look for the best area for parking and chill for a bit before we head to our next stop.
- Rollout. SKRIMPSS!!! Onwards to Kahuku and get our shrimp on. We usually eat at Giovanni's, World Famous, or some even go to Romy's or Fumi's. It's up to you. Either way, we meet up in the parking lot beside the First Hawaiian Bank and World Famous shrimp truck before we rollout to our next stop. I don't know what time we'll be here, so we'll improvise our rollout time based on when we get here.
- Shave Ice! We head out to Haleiwa and finish off with shave ice and talking story. We park in the lot behind the First Hawaiian Bank. It'll be on the right side of the road, beyond the actual Matsumoto's Shave Ice.
Notes:
- Don't forget to bring sunblock, chairs, drinks, cameras, etc. There will be a lot of driving going on, so best be comfortable.
- Clean your Subies and fill those tanks! Make sure your cars are mechanically sound.
- Leave all of our areas clean. At every stop, make sure we leave the place as clean as we left it, if not cleaner.
- Drive responsibly. This goes without saying. It's a cruise for all to enjoy, not a competition. Don't block lanes from other drivers on the road in the name of keeping the group together. There's no need for that. Please drive about speed limit.
If there's anything I left out or if you have any questions, post up! Mahalo and see you there!
