04 wrx misfire finally fixed!

So my 04 wrx wouldn't run right after I installed a turbo, injectors, fuel pump and etune from PDX. I was getting multiple cylinder misfire codes and sounded terrible. The CEL would come on as soon as I started the car but nothing would come up on the Cobb AP when I checked for codes. I figured it was tuning, got it on the dyno and got no where. 128 whp IIRC. It had a terrible misfire around 4000rpm, and wouldn't make boost. Jared said it was most likely the injectors, got another set with the same results. Then I got new coil packs, several sets of plugs, Perrin turbo inlet, new y-pipe, different intercooler, BOV, Samco ancillary hose kit and tried different boost management. I got another fuel pump and filter. Checked and rechecked everything. Boost leak test, compression, TGV sensor alignment, made sure everything was plugged in. I even bought a Legacy alternator, added some grounding points and an Optima yellowtop to make sure it wasn't a voltage thing(the stock battery was going out.) I was getting pretty tired of surfing the web looking for anything that it might be, and spending money. I had just some random sensors I hadn't tried yet but didn't want to spend the money. Spinplay(Chad) was a huge help offering to lend a hand. We swapped out a bunch of stuff with out any results until we hooked up his code reader. TGV sensor malfunction or something close popped up. The Cobb didn't pull this code and I never thought to check with my scanner. Took off the sensor to make sure it was aligned and the butterfly valve wouln't even budge. We took off the motor as well, still wouldn't turn. So, I saw a post from DSBARUUUU that he had a JDM intake with no tgv's and made arrangements to pick it up. I broke some more stuff and had to wait another week to put that whole mess back together with my son. Once back together, HOLY CRAP!!! I couldn't stop smiling. It was making so much power my glazed flywheel and clutch can't hold up (yet another thing to do!) So, many thanks out to all those that helped out or sold me their parts. I'll have a for sale thread up soon to try to get rid of some stuff soon. Chad, thanks again for your help! Who knows why a tgv would get stuck mostly closed? Craziest damn thing ever! The first photo shows how far it would open, the second shows how awesome this whole snaffu has made my engine bay look! So, if you have a crazy misfire check your tgv's. Speaking of which mine should be ported soon and for sale

Dang, who would have thought when it was up on the dyno mis-firing away. Glad that you FINALLY got it fixed! I'm glad you stuck with it and didn't just give up.

I knew it was gonna be something stupid. I kept thinking it was something that I left unplugged. Drove me nuts! So, I'll have my wife make some more salsa and do this over! This time I'm taking my bowl home with me, your welcome whoever has my other one.
