Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

I'm going to buy the Cobb catback exhaust for my NA 07 2.5
I also want UEL headers and a cat that will pass smog BS
yes i know, but I want the UEL for the true sound and am willing to deal with the slight drop in hp
anyone have a suggestion as to which will fit easiest? are there any that work well?

I just got an 05 2.5 rs and I love it. I want to start putting some aftermarket exhaust pieces on it, but I dont want it to be too loud. Im also on kindof a budget and I want to start with a muffler until I make enough to pay for other pieces. Can someone reccomend me an aftermarket muffler that will sound nice but also quiet. Ive heard some people say the STi mufflers work on the 2.5 but ive also heard people say that turbo exhausts are different.

The STi axleback sounds like the one for you.

You will need to take it to a muffler shop to have the midpipe extended about 2" or so, and have the flange rotated.

I have a '99 OBS. I am considering a Stromung cbe and a Stromung HFC (I need to replace both, the stock exhaust is about to rust through). The Stromung I've heard has a good sound but I want to keep it quiet. I have been trying to find a resonator but, well, I need help finding a good one. Any suggestions? I am new to this, I have only done one other mod to my coche so any comments/advice are more than welcome.

just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld in a resonator...something about the size of the stock one should be fine...a resonator is a resonator

How much did you pay for your cat back (I'm assuming?)/where did you buy it? I have been looking around for a while, probably too long, but I need this to be just right. Before I knew anything about an n/a motor I wanted a Borla Hush, simply because of the lack of noise that it created. So now (that I know not to put a 3" pipe on an n/a motor), I am trying to custom build a quite exhaust for my car.

I cant find the borla header application for my 2005 2.5 rs on the borla website...where do you find a borla header that will fit my car, and what other applications use the same part?

I keep reading that the Borla's/Borla Replica's don't make any more power than stock. I've got to think that just getting rid of the factory 180 into the 2-1 would be worth something. So does that mean the Borla style header is inefficient in some other area?
