Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

heres some usefull info!

any and ALL WRX/STI catback systems WILL work on 06+ 2.5i's!!!

any and ALL WRX/STI Turbo headers with out the UP PIPE will work on 06+ 2.5i's! (i.e. greddy, aem, ect)

also when i had my custom 2.5" cat back installed. me & the installer noticed that subaru decided to restrict the exhaust, what i mean is, the header/cat pipe is 2.5", from the cat back, it is 2" piping!!

so the stock headers/cat is 2.5" which is more then big enough to handle any NA system. just make SURE you go with 2.5" (or 3") cat back if you want to keep the system free flowing with out restricting it!

soooo pretty much no reason to change the headers on the 2.5i's...since going to aftermarket will gain you NOTHING over stock lol

if it is already 2.5" that means it is almost perfect for an NA application...going to an after market type means you just spent money to prolly gain almost nothing except sound

very true. you can actually get another stock header and take it to a machine shop and have them port & polish it. retain the factory equip & still out perform!

Car Info: Black 05 RS
Just another NUB question, would an 02-03 WRX STI OEM muffler bolt straight to a 05 RS or there some slight modifications required to attain this, what would those be?
Thanks any info would be appreciated.

should be a direct bold on. why would you want to go with stock? (probably wont gain anything over the current OE muffler you have on your RS now)

have a custom exhaust made. and if you want it quite, make sure you install a resinator.

Hey Vizzionz, you're absolutely positively sure that a catback from pre-06 will bolt up?. i.e. a catback that fits an 05 rs will fit up to the 2.5i.

if it's a WRX catback then yea it should just bolt right up...

if it'san RS catback then now it needs to be modified to be installed

I thought it was the other way around.
The wrx catback needs the flange to be rotated, whereas the 2.5RS catback bolts up perfectly ?

im talking about 06-07 WRX...they share the same flange as the 2.5i

older WRX and RS's had a different pattern

im not to sure of the headers because i was under the impression you would need the STi oilpan to run the STi headers. as for the CBE im pretty sure (at least for the WRX) you can use that on the 2.5i without a problem

the 2.5i/WRX/STI all have the same OIL PAN! (its the pre 05's with the 2.0L engine's that needed the Sti oil pan in order to use the new 05+ Headers)
