tomei downpipe

What's up everyone. I have a little dilemma that I've been in for the last few months and I'm hoping someone on iclub could steer me in the right direction. I've been calling places in search for a catless Tomei downpipe for my 2013 STI sedan but everyone keeps telling me that the Tomei downpipe is back order and has been since Feb of this year? I've looked online and seen other off brands and such.....but I'd rather have the big Tomei bell mouth one because that's what I've used in the past. So, if any of you know where I can find one (that'll fit my car of course lol) I would greatly appreciate it. And please don't say use Google lol. I've used the hell of the search and came back with the same issuses. I only post on here when its my last resort.

Thanks in advance guys

Why are you married to Tomei? There are plenty of well-made downpipes out there.

Because they have good quality parts and I've had a dp from them before. Are you referring to Perrin, HKS or Cobb?

Yep, but only the bellmouth version from HKS (oldschool HKS's were blank plate- fine if you're running an EWG but no so great if you're using the internal wastegate). Invidia is the best bang for your buck IMO. Just stay away from ebay crap (fitment issues) and you'll be fine. A pipe is a pipe is a pipe so why pay more or stress about a specific brand?

so I've been doing some surfing looking for that downpipe and I came across an Invidia catless dp (link below). I've read that the sti models from 2008-2013 are all the same and use the same downpipe regardless of HB or Sedan. Can anyone confirm this? I understand that the catback exhaust systems are different, but how abou the dp's? In the link below, it says the Invidia bellmouth/catless dp will fit STI model 2008-2012 but it doesnt say anything about 2013. Is this because 2013 is such a new model?

Most likely just not updated. Dps will be the same hb and sedan I'm pretty sure.

nothing changed from 08-13 on the sti. The Sti sedans run a different cat back that is the only difference. all the dps are the same. I would run catted in CA though just my opinion.

You think you could sneak an aftermarket catted dp past a cop? Unless its oem it's illegal, so whats the point? I suppose the fine may be less if you had some kind of cat on it... and would have a better shot of claiming ignorance.

Easier for cops to notice you have an aftermarket dp because of the smell.

Obviously. I'm referring to after the hood is popped. Afaik all states require a cat to be installed. But in CA it must be OEM.

you have more of a chance getting your hood popped if you running a catless setup, the smell alone can give it away, so why risk it. Additionally with the stock DP when you pop the hood you can see 1 of 2 cats, same with an aftermarket one.
