Overheating Intercooler after Turbosmart Kompact BPV install?

As the title states, after I installed the BPV, after checking the valve, made sure it compressed, and made sure all connections were secure and did a leak test, I went for a drive. When I came back, I touched the stock TMIC and it was way too hot! Like to the point where I could not lay my hand on it for more than 5 seconds. When I had my stock bpv on this wasnt a problem.
Can anyone enlighten me with your knowledge?

I put the stock one back on and the TMIC is fine now, not getting hot.

No, its a fixed system. Full recirculating. Just curious as to why TMIC temps would increase after the install.
