For my 2002 wagon I have
Helix Up-pipe
Helix Downpipe
Borla Hush Catback
I can definately hear the exhaust note from inside and the twin tip muffler is
very stock looking.

I have an airborne Motorsports 3" TBE with high flow cat (REALLY high flow). It sounds very deep and you can deffinately hear it in the car, but its quieter than most of the fart-cans out there.
Here's a pic:
.
The exhaust has a bell mouth downpipe, one random technologies cat, a straight through resonator and a straight through muffler so it flows very well.
Here's a road dyno comparison I did of this exhaust to my previous exhaust (TXS stealthback, catless, with stock muffler):

BTW,
the tip is a slant cut, but you can't really tell from the picture. It goes very well with the line of the bumper.

I like my Prodrive. Not loud unless I'm really on it, never been pulled over. And I think it sounds very nice.

Just about every exhaust for the Subaru will be Deep sounding. It's the way the engine is. The only real exhaust that is quiet is the Greddy EVO. I have the blitz and it's deep and loud and I've gotten compliments from a lot of hardcore domestic guys saying it sounds nice.
