Apex'i Intake....Just Curious

Does anyone have (or physically seen) the Apex'i aluminum intake box that is available for STi/WRX? I've seen pics of it on their website and it seems to retain the factory intake snorkel, but then has their aluminum box attached to it? What's in that box? Is it a panel filter or is it Apexi's own cone filter attached to their own intake?? Thanks!!
