Safely, you'll def need a full turbo back exhaust, intake, header, fuel pump, injectors and a slightly larger turbo depending on if your staying 91 octane. If you went e85 then you can skip the larger turbo and just do the full bolt ons. Just be careful pushing that much power with that fragile 5-speed. Hope that helps

Does a fuel pump really make that much of a difference? My 07 (non-TR) has a catless DP, catback, and a road tune from EQ and it's making about 220 hp and 270 ft/lbs. Although, I don't actually know what's different on the TR and the normal WRX. So, I could be totally wrong.

Im on 1000cc, walbro fuel pump, fp18g td05, with fmic and intake along with a full catless tbe, headers and ewg setup tuned on e95 and im pushing at 335wtq and 348 whp. You can probably get 300+ with the same setup but with a tmic.

<----- 20g 91 oct EQ tuned. with a conservative tune on a 20g you should be at or slightly above 300whp. i think as long as you dont drive your car like a jackass you should be fine motor and tranny wise

I see that you live in Pollack Pines, yes I would stay with 91 since you're in such a rural area. Also, it may be wise and get a road tune up there if you are altitude changing a lot aka going up tahoe because the elevation is definitely something that could make or break your car in power wise IMHO, you don't have the weak tranny like the bugeyes did but definitely 300 is the mark where you do uh oh I have to drive careful. Try a tune maybe grab an AP with a downpipe and see how you like that power, maybe headers along with it and an STi intercooler, if not swap a vf39/43/48 youre keeping stock specs at that point might be safer, since its more of an OEM swap. you could probably hit 280 around there with a stock turbo thats not a TD04. But switching aftermarket does give you less taper towards top end if that is what you want. Determine your set up via where you want your powerband to be.

I'm all over the place from tahoe to Folsom tahoe for snowboarding and Folsom for school so I'm not really looking for a road tune. Thanks for all the helpful advise guys

You will need all the basic supporting mod and something a little better than a vf-39. I have seen one actually hit 300whp, but I don't think it was very common. My 06 TR with a vf, STi tmic, EL header, MBC, Full 3" TBE, UP, K&N typhoon made 291/322 tuned by EQ. If you really want 300, I would suggest an 18G or larger with our crappy 91 oct.
I wouldn't push those 07 pistons you have too hard, they are prone to broken ringlands.
