2006 WRX hesitation

I have a 2006 WRX and when im in 1st gear it does it some times but mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear around 2500-4000 RPMs it hesitates like it isnt getting gas(yes, there is gas in the tank). when accelerating or when i give it full throttle. Even in the higher gears if i step on it it somewhat hesitates.
i have no mods done to the car. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could be a few things, check/clean the MAF sensor.
Possibly a bad/failing fuel pump

Has it always done this? The factory tune on the 06 WRX has a lot of hesitations and drivability issues that can be completely cured with a good custom tune.

Thanks

I head a hesitation/lundging feeling from my car when I had a dirty MAF, but it gave me a check engine light.

Still worth a shot trying to clean it.
