Question SPT cat back exhaust (WRX): Opinions?

Anybody have any experience with this system? Noise level? Raspy or deep? Quality of fit? Increased performance, if any?

Thanks

Jim

Subaru's performance magazine claims a peak hp gain of 3 hp at 70 mph (not too much) and measured 80 db or less on a drive-by between 40 and 60 mph. I have no experience with this exhaust but I have heard of a lot of people that are very happy with the SPT catback but It doesnt increase HP too much in comparison to other cat backs on the market.

What are you looking for when it comes to noise level and hp gains?

My SPT exhaust was on the car when I got it. It looks to have really good fitment, not crooked or anything, not loose either.

The sound is sweet heaven. No droning, conversation is not hampered in any way at any RPM. Idle is a sweet burble.. I really like it cause its not loud, just loud enough..

Wow 3hp eh.. gee, I never knew.. haha .. I don't think just a catback gives a whole lot more go anyways, but I'd think others will give more power than this one if there is power to be had.

Here is some old data on catback hp #s http://www.mattrandolph.com/wrx/cat-...omparisons.htm, http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/02...ust/index.html. The Blitz Nur-Spec R has a 13.9 gain in HP but it is also loud as a ****.

Oh yeah.. I forgot about that chart. I guess catbacks can make a semi-significant difference.. but I like the sound of the SPT one soo much.. I can't bear to get rid of it.
