Hey guys and girls, I have an 03 wrx, have had it since 03 with many different turbos downpiped intakes etc. so I know the different noises. Any ways, lately it has been making a really loud whistle on part throttle until about 25-2800 rpm than it stops, either with more throttle or revs. Boost seems to be ok, maybe down a couple psi at max boost but that might just be the map. Right now it's just cobb stage 2 with spt intake. I'm thinking it may be a leak in the air filter element (hopefully) but can't see anything. It makes a really loud whistle at part throttle and stops when you give it more gas or it gets higher in the revs. Just started doing it one day. No new work or mods. Thanks in advance!

BTW, it's not necessarily on boost, like I said, it's part throttle only, if I step on the gas I goes away, if I get above 3k it goes away, which makes me think it's something with intake. Boost gauge says about a bar and accessport still still reads about 14.7-15 psi.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Did you reuse any gaskets when installing the exhaust?

No, new gaskets and I've changed all of them when I recently swapped downpipes. The noise started before that and continues after I swapped everything.
