short shifter install?

hey i just got my kartboy short shifter today, and right away went to go install it. now the problem is getting the old shifter out, does anyone have any tips ? i've tried with all my might but it wont come out!

hey do you have to like cut something so it will go inter first? i heard that somewhere but dont know if its true.. is it?

pull the shifter straight back towards you, then push down, it will come right out.

There is my install directions. As for cutting something, nothing has to be cut. Some WRX's have to turn the metal plate 180° though. That only takes a few minutes to do.

alright got it all installed now, feels nothing like the stock one. got a stock shifter if anyone wants it... feel free to pm me. i used the dumbell trick in one of the links in here to get the kartboy shifter in, a lot easier than i thought it'd be, took 5 minutes max. got one question to make sure i got it in right... so now that it's in, when my car is in gear 5, the shifter feels extremely loose, like its not locked into a gear, is that how it's supposed to be?

Do yourself a favor

and get the kartboy bushings as well. It makes a dramatic difference in the feel of the shifter.

Yes, get them.... I had them installed recently and makes the shifter lock firmly into place.
