I think it's mostly due to idiots not knowing what a safe following distance is. Every time I see people 10ft from the guy ahead of them (pretty much everyone) I cringe. L2drive people.

Ya.. this is a typical accident down here in LA.. In addition to people driving in fog with their lights off, people driving in heavy rain with the lights off, people wanting to slam on their brakes with 3 or 4 car lengths in front still...

I hate stupid drivers...
