The "when is BAM?" thread

I like Orange County. I spent 4 ish years there going to high school and a little after before moving, but I still enjoy Orange County. I despise the traffic with a vengeance. But I am a little bit used to sitting in traffic with commuting from Tracy to San Jose on a daily basis. I do realize though, that the majority of drivers down there do not know how to drive. Merging on the freeway is comical to watch until they are trying to merge into you.
I just spent a week down in Newport Beach with the wife, kid, parents and my brother and his wife and kids. My son's first trip to Disneyland. Now that that's out of the way, not going back there for at least a couple years.

Nuts to Disneyland, they raised the price this month. $100

Got a call from the parks today!
aaaand it was answering a message I left several days ago She thought I was someone else. She had nothing new for me today.
So, still waiting on the packet via email. Still waiting for a go ahead from the board of supervisors.
Until then... we wait... and twiddle thumbs.

Not throw a monkey wrench in the works, but many moons ago, I proposed doing a BAM blood drive, which was met with positive feedback.
In so proposing such, I'm obviously willing to be the liaison for the Red Cross, and do any prep and day-of coordination. It's gonna be through a bloodmobile, just needs enough parking spaces cordoned off to do it's thing.
Iirc, all they need is a time/sufficient notice, place, and a reasonable guarantee of enough people (presales, done). BAM's turnout last year was more than enough, expect plenty on top of that this year.
If there's any i-Club illuminati stuff I should know about event planning stuff this year, PM me, or visit in my dreams if that's how it works. Once I'm rolling again I'll be at the Fremont meets more regular for in person talk.

Now if we were running this as a business venture like subiefest or any of those other events it would be simple. But our goals aren't to pocket as much money as possible. They are to provide a family friendly, safe, central location that provides a certain vibe and raises money for charity.

We've been talking about it. I know it was part of the plans for this year but we're doing some transitioning this year. One thing at a time. I for one would love to see that happens. It helps everyone. Makes it easier for the vendors. Easier for the leaders. Etc.
If someone on i-club is in the legal profession and is down to donate time to help us do it... I'm sure Gagan and I would love to at least check in to it. Gagan?
But for this year I don't know if it'll make much of a difference or if it can be done in time.
Don't want to set up a "company" but a non-profit would be rad.

Good luck Gagan.
I remember having to set up those lame special events permits. What a pain in the friggin ***!
Looking forward to going. Though I probably wont be in a Subie (more like a two wheeled pedal mechanism)
